Anushka Sharma, in addition to her modeling career, enrolled in an acting academy and began to perform in films. Anushka appeared as an actor by Shah Rukh Khan opposite Anushka. To prepare herself for the screening test, Anushka Sharma stayed an entire day. Then she was cast in three films for Yash Raj Films. She played the young wife of a man who was older in the film (the same role that Shah Rukh Khan played). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka Sharma was the lead in the film 'Badmash Company,' which was released in. The film was also a star-studded film with Shahid Kapoor and Vir Das. The film received mixed praises. Anushka appeared alongside Ranveer in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat', in which she portrayed the role of a Punjabi middle class woman who started her own business. The film received a positive review. Anushka had completed her three-film contract in partnership with Yash Raj Films.
